From 2011 to date, the Africa Platform for Social Protection (APSP) has supported the Platform in Uganda to conduct activities with the overall objective to increase members knowledge about the newly emerging national, regional, and global social protection issues and agenda.

1. Participated in Regional Consultative Meeting on Social Protection HIV/AIDS and Older People which took place in November 2011 in Nairobi.
2. Conducted research on children’s rights and social protection in Uganda. The aim was to generate understanding of issues that affect children that require social protection to inform the Platform’s advocacy strategy.
3. Published a social protection issues paper on the Platform’s website.
4. Conducted a social audit that focused on grassroots participation in social protection.
5. Participation in policy activities at the African Union and UN levels to contribute to regional and international discourse on social protection.
6. Promotion of social protection understanding among and involvement of Faith Based Organisations.
